49th Annual Boardwalk Weekend

1st to 33rd Street Boardwalk

2023 marks the 49th anniversary for the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival! Every year, hundreds of thousands of people celebrate at the festival’s many offerings. Daily concerts at festival stages are scattered along 30+ blocks of the boardwalk and feature 20+ performances from local, regional, and national recording artists.

International Sandsculpting Championship

How else can one describe this event any other way than with an experience? With a world-class venue, 32 of the world’s most talented sculptors, and an exciting prize purse, Neptune’s International Sand Sculpting Championship has distinguished itself as a premier event unlike any other.

Neptune’s Volleyball Tournament

2nd to 4th Street On The Beach

2v2 and 4v4 play heats up the sand as men, women, youth, and coed divisions compete for titles on the Oceanfront.

Neptune’s Surfing Classic

2nd Street On The Beach

Young and old surfers alike take to the ocean in this surf showdown. With prizes to be had, make your mark in the surf of Neptune Festival month! This event is produced in conjunction with the Eastern Surfing Association, but you do not need to be an ESA member to participate.

Neptune Festival Grand Parade

16th to 32nd Street Atlantic Avenue

Streets lined with people, colorful floats in all shapes and sizes, larger-than-life balloons, marching bands… all of which is just a small snapshot of Neptune’s Grand Parade on Saturday. Find yourself the best spot on the block as you enjoy the music and sights of our many parade units. Be sure to keep an eye out for King Neptune and his court! With a 16 block parade route, a bad spot is hard to find.
